Kit yourself out at Liverpool's latest fashion offering
The recent opening of Liverpool One has seen a wealth of big fashion names flocking to Liverpool, including American cult brand Urban Outfitters. With its quirky décor, funky merchandising and fashion forward lines, Urban Outfitters looks set to become the shopping venue of choice for Liverpool’s fashionistas.
An American phenomenon, Urban Outfitters made its name through its controversial t-shirts bearing slogans such as “Everybody loves a Jewish girl” and “Voting is for old people”. The company now has over 140 stores worldwide and has a product range spanning across clothing to music, books and interiors.
Shopping in Urban Outfitters is an experience, whether you buy something or not. The shop is a treasure trove of vintage beauties, big name brands and quirky originals, all matched to a booming soundtrack of new and alternative music, as promoted by the brand’s new music project, Urban Amplified. Urban Outfitters’ forte is its top notch merchandising, shown through stylish mannequins, colourful table displays and bold artwork.
It’s safe to say that if you’re after a bargain, Urban Outfitters isn’t for your best bet. It offers premium product at premium prices, and you should prepare to pay for those special pieces. However, there are a wealth of great items at reasonable prices, as well as a 10% student discount on top. Head straight to the jewellery section for a vintage-inspired chain or bag a pair of Luella-esque geek glasses for £15. Or choose a headband from the extensive range to give your look an instant update. If you’ve not been down to explore the wonders of Liverpool One yet, get down to Urban Outfitters pronto to see what all the fuss is about.

Urban outfitters copies (steals) designs from fashion students and individual designers, (who are trying to make an honest living selling clothes), at places like markets in London (Portobello and Spitalfields.) . They know that the independent designer can't afford to hire a lawyer to fight the legions of Urban Outfitters lawyers in court. These aren’t one off cases Urban Outfitters do this for most of their designs.
Natalie, you might find this website pretty interesting: http://youthoughtwewouldntnotice.com/, it happens all the time, and its not just Urban Outfitters, Topshop, H&M etc. are all guilty.
