 Being raised on a classical upbringing consisting of the Beatles, the Stones and Oasis, it has taken me quite a while to appreciate hip hop,  it started last year whilst listening to Jay-Z and expanded ever so slightly to Common, so I’m not exactly a sommelier of the Hip Hop world.

The second album for a modern-day rock band, thought by some to be the make or break. A concept I'm sure The Cinematics will not have paid too much attention to in their sophomore attempt (follow up to 2007's A Strange Education) as like any band in their situation, getting people to listen to their music can be hard enough as it is.

Joe Brown has been performing for audiences up and down the country for longer than most, but his infectious enthusiasm for entertaining his loyal army of fans has never seemed to desert him. Big, brash, over the top, completely superb and unmistakably Kiss. The new album released this week by the fathers of rock theatre is the cunningly titled Sonic Boom and not one track on the album is delivered in any type of off hand sluggish way, this is an album that does what is says on the cover.
