Liverpool’s biggest university is set to scrap its geography and politics courses citing lack of demand as it continues to scale back on degree provision. The cuts come at a time when demand for university places is at an all time high and will affect the 67 already confirmed students who had thought they would be starting their university lives this September.

The rivalry between University of Liverpool and JMU moved to the sports grounds on Wednesday as the Varsity Cup took place at venues ranging from Wyncote to Greenbank throughout the afternoon. The winners of each match received 3 points, while a draw gave 2 points to each team, and each losing team received a point. With a cold but dry day to work with, the earliest matches started at 1.
